In short
Lab furniture is much heavier than office furniture, mainly because of the worktops. Cabinets are emptied, connections are disconnected by the customer's technician, the worktop is separated from the frame, every part is labelled with its bench number, and everything is reassembled and levelled in the new lab per the plan.
Why it differs from office furniture
A lab worktop is usually epoxy, ceramic or another chemical-resistant material, very heavy and fragile at the corners. Under the bench there are cabinets, drawers and sometimes gas, water and power connections. So it is taken apart in order and each part travels separately.
What we move
- Fixed and mobile workbenches.
- Base cabinets and drawers.
- Reagent shelves and overhead shelving.
- Flammable and acid storage cabinets, once emptied.
- Carts, lab stools and instrument tables.
Before disassembly
- The lab team empties cabinets and drawers, and chemicals move separately through a licensed carrier.
- The customer's technician disconnects gas, water and power.
- We get the new lab plan with a number for every bench.
Disassembly and transport
- The worktop is separated from the frame and moved on its edge, with padded corners.
- Screws and small parts go into a bag taped to the matching part.
- Every part gets its bench number.
- Base cabinets travel whole, wrapped and locked.
In the new lab
We place everything per the plan, assemble the frames, set the worktops and level them. Then the customer's technicians reconnect gas, water and power, and the lab can put the instruments back on the benches.
Customer responsibilities
Disconnecting and connecting gas, water and power, instrument calibration and biosafety cabinet certification are done by the customer's technicians or contractors. If needed, we are happy to refer you to a qualified technician we know.
